How Thai Model Bookings Actually Work in Bangkok

Most clients start by asking how many models we have available.

We start by asking what the job is.

That difference is the whole article. Almost every operator in Bangkok works from a list. Someone enquires, the list goes out, the client picks. The list is the same whether the booking is a private party, a product launch, or a three day exhibition stand.

We do not work from a list. We select for the job.

Here is what that actually means in practice.

Two jobs, two completely different pools of people

A company exhibiting at a trade show and a client hosting a private party are not asking for the same thing, even when they both say the word “models.”

For a private party, the job is to be part of the evening. Presentation matters, obviously. But a beautiful person who cannot hold a conversation becomes a problem three hours into a long night. Nobody enjoys drinking next to someone they cannot talk to. We select for both, because the client is paying for a good evening, not a photograph.

For a conference or trade fair, the job is to be the first point of contact between a brand and a room full of potential clients. Appearance still matters here. It is what makes someone approach the booth in the first place. What changes is that the conversation afterwards has to carry commercial weight, so English level, education background, and professional presence get verified rather than assumed.

Both pools require presentation and personality. What differs is what we verify, how deeply, and what happens if someone falls short on either side.

An agency that sends the same profiles regardless of what you asked for is not matching people to a job. It is filling a slot.

Why the conference process looks nothing like the party process

Say a company is exhibiting at Affiliate World and needs booth staff. The brief usually arrives with two requirements: fluent English and a professional, charming personality. Often college educated.

We source candidates and build a shortlist. For each one we provide the CV, education background, and previous job references where available.

That might seem excessive for a three day booking. It is not. Appearance gets someone to walk toward the booth. What happens in the next sixty seconds decides whether they stay. If the person cannot hold that conversation, the money spent on the stand is wasted.

So we verify both. Presentation is assessed the same way it is for any booking. Communication is where the extra process comes in, because it is the harder thing to judge from a profile.

The company narrows the shortlist to two. We then organise a Zoom interview so they can meet the candidates directly and hear how they actually speak. A CV tells you someone studied English. A ten minute call tells you whether they can use it under pressure with a stranger.

The company takes it back to their team and makes the final decision.

Before the event we ask the company to provide an introduction to their business, what they sell, and what the candidate needs to know to direct the right people to the right person on the team.

This is the step most operators skip and it is the one that determines whether the booking was worth the money. A hostess who understands the business can qualify a visitor in thirty seconds. One who does not can only smile and point. Same person, same fee, completely different value.

Typical requirement is one to three hostesses per company. Even large companies usually only have one booth.

Why the models in your folder chose to be there

When a booking comes in, the job goes out to our database with the full details. Event type, location, timing, what the work actually involves. The models read it and decide for themselves whether they want it.

Only the ones who say yes go into the folder you see.

Depending on the booking and the date, that folder usually contains between five and thirty candidates. You receive it within 24 hours of the enquiry.

If nobody in it is right, tell us and we will build a second folder. If the second one still misses, we are probably not the right operator for what you are looking for, and we would rather say that than keep sending profiles.

The reason we work this way is practical as much as anything else. In our experience, someone who chooses a booking generally performs better than someone who simply accepts an assignment. On the night, that difference is visible to everyone in the room.

It also removes the most common source of problems in this market. Nobody arrives with a different understanding of what they agreed to, because the job was described in full before anyone said yes.

Every model in the folder you receive chose to be there for your specific event.

What we need before we can quote

The job. Photography, a private party, welcoming guests at an event, working a conference booth, supporting a product launch. Each one changes who we approach.

The location. Where the job is happening affects logistics, timing, and availability. A booking at a hotel in Sukhumvit and a booking on a yacht leaving from a pier are different operational problems.

Once we have those two, we can talk about numbers, duration, and budget.

For private parties the usual request is one model per guest, though the right ratio depends on the type of event and the atmosphere the client wants to create.

What happens on the day

Conference bookings: One of our team contacts the model the evening before and again on the day to confirm she is on track. When she arrives she sends a photo confirming she is on site. We make sure she connects with the company contact, and from there she works.

Party bookings: The model receives the venue map and booking details in advance. Our coordinator handles arrival. Once everyone is at the venue, the evening runs on its own.

We coordinate arrival. We do not supervise the event itself. Models arrange their own transport.

Pricing and why the range is wide

Party models: 8,000 to 16,000 THB

Event and conference hostesses: 4,000 to 15,000 THB per candidate

The range is wide because the requirements are wide. Someone greeting guests at a private birthday and someone representing an international brand across a three day exhibition are doing fundamentally different work. One needs presence and conversation. The other needs presence, conversation, product knowledge, stamina, and the ability to work out in thirty seconds whether the person in front of them is worth the sales team’s time.

Pricing reflects the job, not a tier system. Tell us what the work involves and we will tell you what it costs.

For party and gala bookings, expect the model to be included in what the evening involves. If it is a dinner, she eats. If drinks are being served, she drinks. That is part of the booking and it is not billed separately.

We take a 30% deposit for new clients. If a model cancels on her side there is usually a cancellation fee attached, which can reach 4,000 THB depending on notice. We manage this so it does not become the client’s problem, but it is part of how the market operates.

How much notice we need

Realistically, 24 hours gives us enough time to organise something good.

It can be done in a few hours if necessary but the selection narrows and the process becomes significantly more pressured. For conference bookings requiring a Zoom interview and company approval, allow several days minimum.

The earlier you enquire, the better the shortlist.

What actually goes wrong

There is really only one thing.

You book someone from a photo, and someone completely different arrives.

This happens when the person taking the booking is not the person supplying the model, when photos are recycled from an old profile, or when the operator is working from a list they have never verified.

This is what happens when agencies rely on old folders instead of verifying availability and profiles for each booking.

Our folders are built per booking, from people who confirmed availability for that specific date. The person in the photo is the person who arrives.

When the client asks for the wrong thing

People often describe what they want using the wrong word. That is not their fault. They are not in this industry.

A client contacted us asking for a private tour guide. Standard enquiry, nothing unusual. So we asked the obvious follow up: which places do you want to visit?

The answer came back describing dinner somewhere good, a few drinks afterwards, maybe some dancing, someone who knows the city and can show them a proper night out.

That is not a tour guide. A tour guide takes you to temples and markets and explains what you are looking at. What this client actually wanted was company for an evening out from someone who knows where to go in Bangkok. Different role, different selection process.

We told him so, and suggested a party model instead. She is Thai, she knows the city, she knows which venues are worth the trip on a Tuesday. Much better fit for what he was actually asking for.

He agreed immediately, because once it was explained he could see it himself.

This happens regularly. If we had simply processed the original request we would have sent a tour guide, the evening would have been awkward for both people, and everyone would have concluded the service was poor. It would not have been poor. It would have been the wrong job description.

Which is why the first question is always what is the job, not how many do you need.

Doing this yourself

You can try. Instagram is full of profiles and Bangkok has plenty of local agencies, some of them genuinely professional. If you would rather work with an operator who already vets both sides of the process, see our VIP concierge services.

The problem is twofold. Getting a reply from a stranger on social media takes persistence, and even when you do, you have no way of verifying that the person messaging you is the person in the photos. With agencies, the challenge is knowing which ones are reliable before you have already paid a deposit.

If you are organising an event where the quality of the people representing your brand matters, that uncertainty is not worth the saving.

What you are actually booking

You are not booking from a catalogue. You are booking a selection process that starts with the job and works backwards to the person.

That is why we ask what the work involves before we ask anything else. And it is why the person in the folder is the person who shows up.

The same selection logic applies across our other services. If you are planning a night out, our female tour guide service follows a similar process built around what the client actually needs. If you are organising a full weekend, see how we approach bachelor party planning in Bangkok.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book?

24 hours is workable for most party and event bookings. For conference or trade fair hostesses where a Zoom interview and company approval are involved, allow several days. Earlier always gives a better selection.

How much does it cost?

Party models range from 8,000 to 16,000 THB. Conference and event hostesses range from 4,000 to 15,000 THB per candidate. Final pricing depends on duration, job type, and requirements.

Do the models speak English?

Yes. All models we work with speak English. For conference and trade fair bookings, English level is verified during the interview process rather than taken on trust, because the job depends on it commercially.

Can I see photos before confirming?

Yes. For party bookings we provide a folder with current photos and video, usually containing between five and thirty candidates depending on the booking and the date. For conference bookings we provide CVs, education background, references, and arrange a Zoom interview with shortlisted candidates.

How long until I receive the folder?

Within 24 hours of the enquiry, provided we have the job details and location.

What if nobody in the folder is right?

Tell us and we will build a second one. If that still misses, we are probably not the right operator for what you are looking for and we will say so.

How many models do I need?

For private parties the usual request is one per guest, though the right number depends on the event and the atmosphere you want. For conferences and trade fairs, one to three hostesses per company booth is typical.

Do you arrange transport for the models?

Models arrange their own transport to the venue. Our coordinator confirms arrival and makes sure everyone is in position.

Is there a deposit?

We take a 30% deposit for new clients.

What if I need to change or cancel?

Contact us as early as possible. Cancellations close to the event date may incur a fee, as the models themselves charge cancellation fees which can reach 4,000 THB depending on notice.

What kind of events do you cover?

Private parties, yacht charters, corporate events, product launches, trade fairs, conferences, and photography work. If you have something different in mind, ask.
